Riverside Housing Association

Riverside Housing Association logo

Registered social landlord, Riverside Housing Association, has strict annual targets to meet with regards to environmental performance and NWERC provides them with an excellent solution in relation to WEEE waste. A free of charge collection service is extended to Riverside tenants and void properties are cleared of similar waste for recycling purposes. We provide quarterly statistics for them to use and we are in the process of making a joint DVD to highlight how the partnership works and the recycling process.

As well as providing a general service to the authority to dispose of WEEE waste, we are currently working with the Matrix team to dispose of their seized electronic goods. Part of the service we offer is to wipe sensitive information from PC’s using a powerful and thorough piece of data cleansing software.

Gaskells Waste Services

Our partnership with Bootle based Gaskells is an example of how we can add value to other waste company’s operations. Gaskells is committed to recycling and reducing the amount of waste going to landfill. The company has invested £2.5 million on a two-acre site to recycle paper, glass, wood, metal and plastic and works with NWERC to manage the recycling of WEEE waste.

Recycling plant in Ghana

We are pleased to announce our plans to open an electronic recycling centre in Ghana in the next few months.
We have been looking at expanding our recycling company to Africa for some time and we had plans to open our first centre in Nigeria. After some thought we opted for Ghana instead as the economy is more suited to this type of set up. The electricity is more guaranteed in Ghana compared to Nigeria and this was also a factor!!
We look forward to employing local people into the trade of recycling and re-use and getting them up to the high standards we have here in the U.K.
We will keep the site updated on our progress on our exciting new venture!!!
