Valentines Crime prevention launch a big success!!!
Posted by N Vira Mental Reeves, Tue February 22 2011, 1:56:23
The Valentines day launch of the Crime prevention Roadshow by the Community Crime fighters Group (CCF) went down a storm on Monday February 14th. 180 elderly people attended the event and were treated to entertainment by Tom Spence, a local swing act, Tony Barton who combined comedy with music, Sean styles from Radio Merseyside who had us in stitches and I even got up and had a sing song!! Vip guests included Herbert of Liverpool, Lord Mayor of Liverpool and Baroness Newlove. Our invited guests were able to network both with each other and partner organisations. Our elderly invitees could receive information about benefits entitlement, home protection, health care options and even recommend a grot spot to be cleaned and maintained by Liverpool Probation Trust through Community Payback. It was a fantastic day and we only hope that we can see more of these events in the future and work towards tackling problems within the community through the volunteering of local people who care enough to want to see change.
