Baling out? no Baling in-NWERC!
Posted by N vira mental reeves, Wed March 17 2010, 11:36:22
Well it finally happened! What a wondrous day! Our beautiful baling machine has at last arrived from Whitham Mills and boy is it a beautiful piece of art! Magnificent to behold. And so we are soon to be in full production with our new textile recycling services. Already we are receiving textiles of high quality from across the North West and have a formidable mountain of clothing to unleash our new piece of kit on. I never would have thought that recycling could be so rewarding but from the first time you ever see a pile of old clothes pushed into the baler box of a double loading baling machine, you are never really the same again! How such a large pile of clothes can end up fitting into a sardine can defeats me!! Pictures will follow soon. Keep checking back!

NWERC now have a brand new Cafe on site feeding the hungry tums of all local residents and workers…much needed I say! Thanks to our Dave we can now treat ourselves to hot lunches, full english breakfasts and tea and coffee all day long at low low prices. So why not search through your attic today and get rid of some of the old electronics gathering dust at home and treat yourself to a cream cake at the same time?
Make Waste Your Business Event

Today, myself and a group of us from NWERC took part in the Make Waste Your Business event in Blackburn house, Liverpool. The event was organized by Liverpool Chamber of Commerce together with Liverpool City council and saw representatives from many different Environmentally minded companies including The Environment Agency, Enterprise Liverpool and Envirolink. We feel that the day was a tremendous success and we were able to meet with many different Liverpool companies and waste management services for whom the problem of Electronic recycling was a big issue. We came armed with table clothes, props, helium balloons and banners and I must say, it looked great!! Plus, the day marked the first outing of its kind for our new employees Zoe, Jamie Lee and Paddy who did exceptionally well. Thanks to Alan McCarthy who helped us with sales techniques and strategies on the day. We got loads of great photo ops and I promise that as soon as we have processed them, they will be up here for you to see. What a great way to spend the day!!

It’s a pity that not more larger corporate bodies are following in the footstep of Riverside Housing Association. Riverside Housing together with North West Electronics have launched the first ever door step collection scheme to handle and service the needs of it’s tenants.

It’s always nice to get a certificate for something!! Even more so when it is for doing something good. And that is why getting our Green Ambassadors Certificates from the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce brought us so much joy and satisfaction. It also makes the wall look a lot nicer too!!
